Caricatures by Madeline
At the ArtChix show/sale this past weekend one of the ArtChix, Madeline Ledzinski, dropped by to practice her caricature skills by drawing caricatures of four of us. Those who know us will recognize Sharon King, Barbara Lang, Ruth Malins and me, Susan Roper from these fun drawings. The most difficult part of sitting for these portraits was to stop talking long enough for Madeline to get the facial features correctly.Aren't these fun?!

ArtChix Show - March 21 and 22
The ArtChix are holding an art show/sale this weekend, with seven artists participating. I have received photos of four of these artists from the Sun City Grand Art Club's Historian, Jim Greenwald. The artists shown here are: Diane Eason, Susan Roper, Norma Miller and Ruth Malins. When I receive the photos of the others I will add them here. It was a beautiful day to be strolling through an art show!

I, as the ArtChix Blog Mistress, have set up another important art blog for the Vanguard Artists.
We are a group of artists in the West Valley and disprove the fact that good art begins and ends at Central Avenue and is to be found only in the East Valley (Scottsdale) area. There are many lifelong artists in this group and their rich and varied art experience shows in their magnificent work.
ArtChix members who belong to Vanguard Artists are: Ann Stubenrauch, Arlen Madole, Barbara Lang, Diane Eason, Norma Miller, Madeline Ledzinski, Ruth Malins, Carol Kennedy and Sharon King. Members of the Sun City Grand Art Club who also belong to the Vanguard group are: Kandyce Olson, Judy Visker, Ron Anderson, Woodie Mackey, Steve Plichta, Connie Bollard and Kay Verstraete.

Upcoming Art Sale!
Be sure to mark your calendar for the next ArtChix sale. It will be Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22. The participating artists are working hard producing great art for display and sale. I hear tell that there will be some lovely new pieces of Artisan Jewelry available as well.
